Wednesday night saw the great and the good of the sport world get together at Twickenham Stadium for the launch of Mike Tindall’s new charity RUGBY FOR HEROES where the rugby players and supporters will be raising funds to help members of our brave armed services adjust to everyday life once back from conflict.
The night was a roaring success with a charity auction, gala dinner and professional boxing all topped off with a charity raffle drawn by Mrs Tindall herself Zara Phillips.
All in all this was a great night and a thoroughly enjoyable one at that in aid of such a worth cause.
Please do visit the Rugby for Heroes website where you can see the great work they are doing first hand and make a donation
The boxing was a great end to the evening with 3 fights organised by Mickey Helliet featuring a Light-Welterweight bout between Alfie Smith and Sid Razak over 4 rounds which Smith won on points. Next up was Light-Middle Lee Owen taking on Jason Nesbitt over 6 rounds which Owen won on points and last but not least saw East Dulwich Welter Ahmet Patterson get a points victory over 4 rounds against Worcester’s Billy Smith.
Daily Sport owner Grant Miller says – A great nights entertainment was had by all raising money for a great cause.
