Jonathan and Charlotte are odds-on to win Britain’s Got Talent after blowing away the judges in the second semi-final with a performance Simon Cowell branded one of the best he has ever seen on the show.
The best friends sang the opera classic “Caruso” and got a standing ovation which nearly lifted the roof.
Simon immediately told Jonathan he was right to stick with his partner, and Amanda Holden – who missed Jonathan’s first audition – agreed.
Simon said: “There is a lot at stake here and I thought Charlotte was holding you back and I have to tell you, staying with Charlotte was the best decision you ever made.
“I understand your chemistry, Charlotte you sang really well tonight. The combination of the two..one of my favourite ever Britain’s Got Talent performances.”
The duo are now as short as 1/2 to win the final and a best price of 8/11 with Sky Bet.
Latin dancers Kai and Natalia were the other act to secure a place in this year’s final.
They got the judges’ verdict over teen singer Paige Turley, with David Walliams the only one on the panel voting for the youngster.
The couple are rated 80/1 outsiders to win the comp.
