With St.Valentines Day on 2 days off now a survey commissioned by bookie Ladbrokes has found 84% on Brits surveyed said they’d rather have a bet than buy roses for the loved one, with only 16% saying they’d splash out on roses.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve found conclusive proof that we’re a nation of gamblers. We’d rather be having a flutter than faffing with flowers.” He added “A day at the horses beats a dozen roses for most Brits.”
