The well-treated Explain looks worth a punt at 10/1 in the 7.30 at Ayr today now eased in grade and reffited with the blinkers.
Ruth Carr’s six-year-old did well last season when winning three times with the last of those successes coming in a class 3 at Chester when he scored by 1 1/2 lengths off a mark of 86.
He is yet to trouble the judge in seven starts this season, but they have been in class 2 and 3 affairs – apart from one run in a class 4 three starts back – and he now drops back down into class 4 compamy in which he has won twice and been placed twice from eight starts.
His two wins in the grade came last season before his aforementioned Chester success.
Explain now able to race off just 77, 9lb lower than when last successful and his lowest rating since April 2016.
It gives him major cliams at the weights on the pick of his form and he is also
a course winner, so has more going for him than his odds suggest.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Explain (10/1 Coral – BOG)
