Buywise has become dangerously well-treated and looks worth an each-way wager at 16/1 in the veterans’ chase at Sandown today (3.00).
Evan Williams’ 11-year-old is a highky talented sort but also a very frustrating one who has become hard to win with.
However he has often run well in ultra-competitive handicaps, including when a 2 1/1 length third of 17 to Taquin Du Seuil in the 2017 BetVictor Gold Cup at Cheltenham off a mark of 150.
He also ran well at last year’s Cheltenham Festival when foruth of 23 to Un Temps Pour Tout in the Ultima Handicaap Chase off 145.
Buywise is now able to race off 138 and that gives him a huge chance from a handicapping perspective on the pick of his form.
He also has proven winning form on testing conditions and this is his first venture into this type of contest.
If on a going day he looks too well-treated to ignore and a major player at the weights.
Daily Sport recommended bet; 2pts each-way Buywise (16/1 bet365, Betfred, Stan James, Willaim Hill – BOG)
