Rigolleto is back down below his last winning mark and worth siding with at 17/2 to land the 3.05 at Kempton for a second time.

Anabel Murphy’s gelding was last successful in this race 12 months ago when making all and runing on strongly in the hands of George Baker to beat Ray Of Joy by a length off a mark of 68.

He went on to finish a solid fourth to Dutiful Sun, again over course and distance, before being beat just 3/4 of a length by Multitask aat Lingfield off 70.

The seven-year-old has since been placed on two occasions in eight starts, and having been rated as high as 72 in that period now runs off 66.

That is 2lb lower than when landing this last year, and Baker is now back in the saddle having not been onboard in any of Rigolleto’s last seven outings.

His booking suggests connections mean business, and everything points to a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Rigolleto (17/2 William Hill – BOG)
