Short Work has become well-treated and looks worth a wager at 25/1 in the 4.05 at York today.
The four-year-old opened his account 13 months at Salisbury when trained by Ralph Beckett and beating dark Shot by a neck off a mark of 79.
He went on to finish an excellent second of 14 at Epsom off a mark off the same rating and is now able to race in this of 71.
That is a career-low and althuugh Short Work has yet to trouble the judge in four starts this season since joining David O’Meara is last three runs have not been totally devoid of promise.
They include when sixth of 19 over course and distance on his penutimate outing off 4lb higher.
He was also not unduly kncoked abou last time out when a keeping on fifth at Haydock.
Short Work is now too well-treated to ignore on the pick of his form and at the odds on offer looks worth an each-way play.
