Azilian is back down below his last winning mark and makes plenty of appeal at 7/1 in the 3.50 at Wolverhampton today now eased in grade.

Paukl Cole’s charge was last successful whne making all to land a class 5 contest over 1m 4f at Lingfield nine months ago by a length off a mark of 72.

He went on to finish a fine head second in a class 4 contest at Salisbury off 77, but has failed to cut any ice in four subsequent starts after being put up to 79.

However, he is now able to race off 70 as a result – 2lb lower than when last victorious – and now drops back down to class 5 level.

That gives his major claims at the weights, and the four-year-old is entitled to strip much fitter for his recent run at Windsor after 134 days on the sidelines.

The tongue-tie he wore when successful also now goes back on, and with the stable now in decent nick everything points to a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Azilian (7/1 Betfred, Coral – BOG)
