The potentially well-treated Scots Law looks worth siding with at 8/1 in the 4.25 at Ayr today now fitted with the hood for the first time and partnered by Graham Lee.

Keith Dalgleish’s filly shaped with promise in three maiden runs last year, most notably when third of seven to Coral Mist on good-to-soft ground at Haydock.

The winner went on to win a Group 3 contest at Ayr and is now officially rated 99, while the runner-up Merletta won next time up and is rated 95.

That is strong form, and Scots Law went on to catch the eye when finishing a staying on fifth of 15 to Black Treacle over 6f at this venue on soft ground  on handicap debut off an opening mark of 75.

The daughter of Lawman finished just 2 3/4 lengths behind the fourth home Kenny The Captain, and that one went on to win his next two starts and is now rated 81.

The seventh home Kickboxer has also developed into a useful sort who is now rated 95, and that makes Scots Law look potentially well-treated off a rating of just 69.

Although Scot’s Law has been well beatenin her two runs this season, she ran as if needing the outings and should now be spot on to do herself justice on ground which will suit.

The fitting of the headgear is also very interesting, as is the booking of Graham Lee to partner Scots Law for the first time as he has a 28.5% strike rate when teaming up with the yards in the past 12 months.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Scots Law (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
