Secretinthepark has been working his way back to form and looks decent value at 8/1 in the 4.45 at Doncaster today now upped back up in trip.

Ed McMahon’s colt was unbeaten in three starts as a juvenile last season, with his last success coming at this venue when he ran on strongly to beat Brazen by 1 1/2 lengths off a mark of 84.

He started this campaign off on a mark of 91 on the back of that effort and ran better than his final position suggests on his seasonal reappearance when 10th of 14 to Hasopop where he weakend late on to be beaten 4 lengths and ran as if needing the outing.

The son of Sakhee’s Secret then duly stepped up on that effort when an eye-catching fith of 18 to Heaven’s Guest in a class 2 6f contest at Newmarket  where he kept on to be beaten 4 lengths in a race which has a strong look to it.

The three-year-old then stayed on really well to be beagen just over a length by Lucky Beggar over 6f at the same venue off a mark of 90, before running another solid race last time up at headquarters – again over 6f – to finish second of 13 to Can You Conga off 91.

He got caught in the shadows of the post that day to be beaten a neck and the result may well have been different if Robert Winston hadn’t put up 1lb overweight.

Although he now has to run off 4lb higher (95) he looks to be going the right way and it’s intresting that connections are now stepping him back up to 7f for the first time this season.

He is unbeaten over the trip having won his first two career starts over it, and judged on how he has been running of late he is crying out for it.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Secretinthepark (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
