Hit The Lights shaped as if coming back to form last time out and looks cracking value at 9/1 to take advantage of a drop in the weights and land the 8.40 at Wolverhampton tonight.

The gelding was in good form last season when trained by Ollie Pears, winning at Catterick in good style before following up at Pontefract off a mark of 65.

The four-year-old went on to finish a decent fourth to Heaven’s Guest off 71 and excellent second to Aetna at Newcastle off 70.

Now in the care of Pat Chamings, Hit The Lights gets into this class 6 contest off a career-low mark just 59 –  6lb lower than when last winning in a grade 5 affair.

It gives him a big shout at the weights, and the son of Lawman shaped as if he could be coming to hand when a decent fourth of 10 to Maria Montez at Lingfield last month.

Hit The Lights showed plenty of early speed to lead until being headed approaching the final furlong and keeping on at the onvce pace to be beaten 3 1/2 lengths.

If he can build on that, then Hit The Lights could take some pegging back as he is drawn to attack in stall 1.

It also inetresting that connections are now fitting him with cheekpeices fo rthe first time, and at the odds on offer he looks overpriced and rates the best best on the card.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Hit The Lights (9/1 William Hill – BOG)
