One In A Row has fallen to a mark from which he should be competitive and looks worth siding with at 9/1 in the 1.20 at Wetherby today.

The gelding shaped with plenty of promise in two bumper runs in Ireland when trained by Shark Hanlon, most notably on his second run under rules when finishing third of 5 to Pique Sous at Tipperary.

The winner is now rated 133 over hurdles while the runner-up is Reafadda is rated 116.

The selection then moved to joined Alistair Whillans and failed to build on the promise he had shown in his bumper runs when sent hurdling.

However having initially been given an opening handicap mark of 88 he now gets into this of just 76 after attracting support last time out on his first start for Alan Swinbank.

That run came at Sedgefield, where after being held-up off the pace he madae headway under pressure three out to chase the leaders before weakening on the flat to be beaten 7 3/4 lengths.

It was an effort which suggested that he still retained enough ability to win a race of this nature from his current mark, and he is entitled to strip much fitter with that run – his first for 215 days – under his belt.

The booking of Richard Johnson also catches the eye, and off bottom weight he looks worth an each-way wager at the odds on offer.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way One In A Row (9/1 Betfred, Coral, Hills – BOG)
