9/1 Sinatra can have bookies singing the blues at Carlisle

There’s just one horse that interests me at Carlisle today, and that Sinatramania who looks terrific value at 9/1 to hit the high notes in the 5.40.

Tracy Waggott’s gelding quickened well from way off the pace to score over course and distance back in May when beating Epernay by 3 1/2 lengths.

That win came off a mark of 50, and although 5lb higher today he showed when an excellent third to Quanah Parker at Newcastle five starts ago off 59 that he was capable of scoring his current mark.

He is yet to be disgraced in three runs at this track, and the stiff uphill finish clearly plays to his strengths.

Another plus is that his trainer is in-form having sent out Mission Impossible to land a quick-fire double.

Despite the large field, this certainly doesn’t look the strongest of contests and represents a good opportunity for the selection to land his second career victory.

With conditions to suit and bookmakers paying 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4, he looks a terrific each-way play at 9/1.

Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Sinatramania (9/1 Sky Bet)
