After Rain looks to have plenty going for him in the 4.40 at Fairyhosue today and makes plenty of appeal at 8/1.
The gelding won two of his first four starts over hurdles and posted a fine effort on handicap debut over course and distance when third of 15 to Blue Hell off a mark of 123.
After being held-up at the rear and making a mistake at the foruth, the seven-year-old made good hedaway on the outside approaching the home straight before keeping on nicely to be beaten 5 1/4 lengths in a race which has worked out well.
After Rain is able to race in this off just 4lb higher and comes into the contest on the back of two solid efforts at Leopardstown, finihsing third to That’s A Wrap before being beaten just 4 1/4 lengths when 10th of 20 to Ice Cold Soul.
He was given plenty to do in the latter and now meets the winner on 6lb better terms.
After Rain also has the services in the saddle of the highly talented and in-form Rachael Blackmore who is terrific value for her 3lb claim and taking it into account looks weighted to run a big race.
