A miserable afternoon for Sunderland last weekend cost us dearly, with them failing to build on their emphatic win the weekend before and slumping to a thrashing at home to the out of form Southampton.
This leaves us with a running profit of £3.21, but with the FA Cup is back on our screens this weekend we can look forward to some interesting clashes and hopefully make a bit of spending money in the process.
The best bet this week is our FA Cup Value Treble at 10.5/1 with bet365.
Burnley vs Lincoln: Burnley put in another magnificent display at Turf Moor last weekend with a draw against Premier League leaders Chelsea, and now they host National League leaders Lincoln City in the FA Cup. The hosts have kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven home games and won both of their previous FA Cup clashes 2-0, taking their recent home record to seven wins and one draw from their last eight games.
Millwall vs Leicester: Millwall have proven that The Den is still a fortress in the FA Cup so far with eliminations of Bournemouth and Watford, and they are now 12 games unbeaten in all competitions. They have won seven of their last eight at home and face a Leicester side who have won just one of their last 15 away games, losing nine of them so a Millwall win looks likely. Backing them on the Asian Handicap reduces our risk, and I can’t really see Leicester winning this in 90 minutes.
Huddersfield vs Manchester City: Manchester City have looked to be returning to their attacking best recently, and whilst their defence has solidified in recent weeks the looming Champions League tie with Monaco is sure to result in some rotation. Huddersfield have scored in all of their home games this season, but I don’t think they will be able to limit the in form Manchester City attack for even with a weakened squad out the visitors should take the win.
This looks by far the highest value bet of the weekend, and it’s largely because of the bookmakers consistently over-valuing the Premier League champions. Leicester have been awful on the road this season, failing to win a single Premier League game and only winning twice in all competitions.
The majority of these games have resulted in defeat, and it doesn’t look to be getting any better for them as the season wears on. This is illustrated by their 2-0 loss at Swansea last weekend, and with a Champions League away day at Sevilla coming up on Wednesday we could well see some rotation from the Tinker Man.
Millwall have already knocked out both Bournemouth and Watford with stellar displays at The Den, and their 2-0 win over Port Vale last time out makes it seven wins from their last eight home games in all competitions. They have only lost two of their last 15 outings on home soil as well.
A straightforward Millwall win comes in at an attractively priced 15/8 on Saturday, but with Leicester winning just two of their 18 away games this season I think taking a hit on the value to inject the security of getting your stake back in the event of a draw is the best route to take.
