Beidh Tine Anseo has been gradually working his way back to form and looks solid value at 11/2 in the 2.35 at Newcastle.
Lucinda Russell’s gelding was a progressive sort last year, winning three times and running well in several competitive contests.
He is now rated 6lb lower than when registering his last success at Cartmel off an official rating of 122, and went on to finish a solid fourth of 11 to Astracad in a decent race at Cheltenham off the same mark.
That gives him every chance of getting back in the winners’ enclosure off a mark of 116, and he has signalled in his last three runs that he could be ready to take advantage now that he has got his favoured good ground.
The first of those runs came at Kelso where he finished a highly encouraging second to Surprise Vendor on soft ground, and next time up he held every chance before weakening late to finish third to Dontpaytheferryman.
He then narrowly failed to overhaul that rival in his latest run at Musselburgh, and today’s long straight should enable him to be held up until the latest possible moment and be delivered late by Campbell Gillies who gets on extremely well with him.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Beidh Tine Anseo (11/2 BetVictor – BOG)
