Mick Easterby’s Aerodynamic is at the top of his game at present and at 4/1 is strongly fancied to notch his second success in three starts in the 4.45 at Ripon today.

The gelding did us a favour when bouncing back to form and taking advantage of a drop in the weights to score in an amateur riders’ contest at Beverley on his penultimnate start off a mark of 65, and followed that up with a solid third at Newcastle last time out under a 6lb penalty.

He dwelt at the astart that day, as he is prone to do, but then ran on strongly inside the last to be beaten just 1 1/2 lengths without ever quite threatening to get to the leaders.

The four-year-old now gets into this off a mark of 70 which means that he is carrying 1lb less than when putting in that fine effort.

It gives him every chance of getting back into the winners’ enclosure as he is still very well-treated on the pick of his form last season.

Prior to his success at Beverley his last win had come in a class 4 contest at Nottingham last August where he was heavily backed and ran on strongly to win going away by 2 lengths from Sir George off a mark of 74.

He got put up 6lb for that win to a mark of 80, yet is now running in class 5 company off 4lb lower having refound his form.

The trip and ground are also ideal, and with Graham Gibbons in the saddle everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Aerodynamic (4/1  generally available – use BOG firms)
