After a dream start to the season Newcastle have lost the plot in recent weeks, and I think West Brom are more than capable of bagging share of the spoils at St James’ Park tonight (7.45pm KO)
The Magpies were unbeaten after 11 games and sat third in the table with 26 points, but better quality opposition and injuries to key players in a squad that lacks strength in depth has seen them put together a poor run of results in recent weeks
Alan Pardew’s men took just one point from three successive games against the Manchester clubs and Chelsea, and then got thrashed 4-2 by Norwich before managing only a goalless home draw with Swansea.
Their opponents come into the game on the back of a battling 2-1 win at Blackburn, and have been looking far more solid of late.
The Baggies will certainly make things hard for Newcastle, and although unlikely to be good enough to secure all three points I do think that they are a good bet at 5/2 to grind out a draw.
