Bazaar worth a bet at 16s

So Bazaar will relish the quick conditions at Sedgefield this evening and looks worth chancing at 16/1 on his handicap debut in the 7.30.

Andrew Wilson’s gelding showed very little in his first two starts over hurdles but showed enough last time up to suggest he was capable of picking up a small race from his mark of 90.

That run came at Newcastle where he was well behind before staying on three from home to finish a never nearer 7th of 15 to Zarzu.

Although beaten a long way he was not knocked about and he could have a bit more to offer now that he is going handicapping at lowly level.

The ground is certainly a major factor in his favour, as all his best form has come on good-to-firm.

His last win came on quick ground on the level at Ripon back in 2010, and he went on to finish in the frame on two other occasions under similar conditions.

That suggests that – unlike many of his rivals –  he really be at home on ground which is only going to get quicker and at the odds on offer he could well be overpriced in a race which won’t take much winning.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way So Bazaar (16/1 Ladbrokes, Paddy Power – BOG)
