Bearskin has shown enough to make him of interest at 18/1 on his handicap debut in the 6.10 at Redcar today.

Anne Duffield’s had three quick runs in maidens at the backend of last season, shaping with promise on each occasion.

He showed plenty of pace on his debut at Thirsk before weakening to finish 9th of 12 to Comino, and then showed similar dash next time up when fading lare on to come a decent fourth of 11 to Torchlighter at Pontefract.

The son of Kodiac then seemd to find heavy ground against him when racing up with the pace before keeping on to finish a 10 length fifth of 10 to Ribbleton at Pontefract, but again showed enough to suggest he would be capable of winning races this season.

Those runs all came within a 44 day period, and it’s clear that connectiosn were keen to get him a handicap mark for the start of this campaogn.

He gets into this contest off an opening mark of 60, and that should be explotable judged on what I saw last season.

The trip and ground should be ideal, and he also has a good draw to expolit in stall 14.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Bearskin (18/1 Coral – BOG)
