Blue Hussar looks dangerously well-treated in the 5.20 at York and makes plenty of appeal at 25/1.
Micky Hammond’s six-year-old has been in terrific form over hurdles of late, winning twice and finishing runner-up twice in his last four starts to be rated 127.
Blue Hussar now switches back to the level off a rating of just 77.
It is a career-low and he was rated as high as 105 earlier in his career when trained by Aidan O’Brien.
Blue Hussar was also only beaten just a length into fourth by Second Step in a Listed contest at the Curragh when in his care, so if transferring the improved form he has shown over the stick back to the flat looks weighted to run a huge race.
He also has proven form on soft ground, hails from a yard in good nick, and unlike many of his rivals comes into this at the top of his game.
