Brilliant Barca too strong for Chelsea

Posted on by Tom Warrington

Chelsea take on the mighty Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final tonight (7.45pm KO, Live on ITV1) and the visitors simply have to be backed at the 3/4 on offer with Paddy Power.

Pep Guardiola’s men have only lost twice this season and their record from the last 15 games is won 14, drawn 1, lost 0.

That’s an impressive run of form from the holders, and they have a side packed with talent – including a certain Lionel Messi.

He is a standout 5/6 to score anytime with Coral, and that looks a huge price given that most firms go just 4/7.

I think he a a cracking bet to get on the scoresheet and expect him to fire the Spanish side to victory in what should be a cracking attacking game of end to end football.

Chelsea themselves come into the game in good form and look sure to give it their best shot.

However they don’t have a squad with the same talent as Barca, and even if they do score – which I think they will – it is likely to be a case of the visitors just scoring more.

Over 2.5 goals looks a gimme at a generally price of 8/11, while a small punt on a 3-2 win for Barca appeals at 25/1
