Burnley the bet to silence Canaries

Posted on by Tom Warrington

Norwich are odds-on to win their 3rd round FA Cup clash with Burnley at Carrow Road today (3pm KO), but the visitors are fancied to cause an upset at a tasty looking 100/30.

The home side come into the game in decent form having beaten QPR on New Year’s Day, but that owed plenty to Joey Barton’s sending off and prior to that match they had looked poor when somehow snatching draw against Fulham.

They will need to play better than that if they are to beat Eddie Howe’s side who had won six of their last seven games before losing 2-1 to Leeds at Elland Road and have a decent record in this competition.

The Clarets have advanced beyond the third round of the competition in each of the last three years and in my book should be around 5/2 to win this as there is little between the two sides.

Therefore at 100/30 with Paddy Power they look massively overpriced and a cracking punt to pull of a giant killing act.
