Cappielow Park looks on a tempting mark in the 8.40 at Windsor and makes plenty of appeal at 12/1 after an eye-catching effort last time out.
William Jarvis’s gelding finished only fifth of 9 to Quiet Appeal at Beverley last month but ran far better than his 4 3/4 lengths beating suggests.
After being slowly away and held up at the rear he got outpaced two from home before staying on nicely under tender handling.
It was a run which suggested that he could be coming to hand, and his juvenile form certainly makes him of interest off a mark of 70.
The son of Exceed and Excel ran a cracker on his debut at Yarmouth when staying on strongly to finish third of 12 to Aljamaaheer, and the winner is a really classy sort who has this season landed a listed contest at Newmarket before finishing a fine third to Ishvana in last week’s Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot of an official rating of 107.
The second home at Yarmouth – Mezzotint – scored in his next two starts including in a handicap at Kempton off a mark of 80 and has since been placed twice in decent contests off 85.
That makes the seletion’s mark look very workable if he can build on his latest effort, and at the odds on offer he looks good each-way value.
