Cat Royale runs off a career-low mark in the 5.30 at Wolverhampton today and looks worth a wager at 7/1.

John Butler’s five-year-old was last successful over course and distance 13 months ago when keeping on well to score by 1 1/4 lengths off a rating of 60.

He got put up 5lb for that victory and ran well of his revised mark of 65 when a 3 length third at this venue.

Cat Royale also ran well over course and distance three starts back when a 2 length runner-up to Caledonia Laird off 53 and has been far from disgraced in two subsequent outings at kempton and Lingfield.

He is now able to race off 52, a career-low having been rated as high as 75 in the past.

It makes him a huge player at the weights on the pick of his form in what is a weak looking class 6, especially if the fitting of the visor for the first time has the desired effect.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Cat Royale (7/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
