Celtic eased to victory over closet rivals Aberdeen on Wednesday night to move three points clear the top of the Scottish Premiership table thanks to a double from Moussa Dembele.

Brendan Rodgers champions were in control throughout taking the lead as Kieran Tierney blasted a Dembele cross into the net via the underside of the crossbar inside 13 minutes.

The two combined for the Celts second minutes later as Tierney crossed for Dembele and he slid home the loose ball past Joe Lewis in the Dons goal.

Dembele added the Celts third shortly after time as he headed in from close range to seal the three points and make it 61 domestic games without defeat and also ended the Dons 11 game unbeaten run.

Aberdeen started well as Craig Gordon made a good low save to is right to keep out Andrew Shinnie but after the early Tierney goal Celtic looked comfortable and showed exactly why they are the unbeaten champions.

It could have been even more for Celtic as Stuart Armstrong went close and Callum Mcgregor had a shot blocked by Kari Arnason.

Celtics movement and pace proved to way too much for the Dons who just couldn’t deal with Tierney down the wing and it was he who created most of the problems scoring and assisting Dembele in the process.
