Cheltenham Festival day 3: Hero hot stuff at 14/1

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Another Hero looks nicely treated on the pick of his form and worth siding with at 14/1 in the Fulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Riders’ Handicap Chase which brings proceedinbgs to a close on day three of the Cheltenham Festival (5.30).

Jonjo O’Neill’s charge is a dual winner over fences and has caught the eye in his last two starts.

In the first of those at Ascot, he found himself well-detached at the rear of the field after getting badly hampered at the first.

Another Hero stayed on strongly to be nearest at the finish and a 2 1/2 lengths fourth of 14 to Regal Encore.

It was a terrific effort, given how the race panned out and Another Hero has since finished a solid third of 14 to Ziga Boy in the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster.

Although eventually beaten 12 1/2 lengths, Another Hero travelled strongly for the majority on the contest.

He was kept on nicely without being unduly knocked about once it was clear he couldn’t win.

Both the aforementioned efforts suggest that a current mark of 136 is exploitable, and Another Hero looks to be being lined-up to land a valuable pot.

O’Neill has an terrific record with his staying chasers and is a dab hand at laying one out for the big day. Another Hero looks a typical plot horse for the master of Jackdaws Castle.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Another Hero (14/1 bet365 – BOG, 1/4 odds 1,2,3,4,5)
