Impulsive Star has a progressive profile and looks worth a punt at 10/1 in the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham (2.10).
The gelding was unbeaten in two pints runs and has won three of his four starts over hurdles since joing trainer Neil Mulholland.
He also ran well in defeat at this venue in a Grade 2 when a staing on 7 3/4 length fourth to Wholsetone in a race which has worked out well.
The winner has won a Grade 2 since to be rated 145, the runner-up Ami Desbois has finished third in a Grade 1 and won to be rated 144, and West Approach – who finished a nose behind the selection has finished a fine third in the Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle and is now rated 157.
That is strong form ann makes Impulsive Star look nicely treated off a mark of 140.
He also comes into the contest on the back of an impressive success at Exeter and remains unexposed and open to plenty more improvement.
