Chicago Alley is potentially very well treated in the 2.45 at Hereford and looks good each-way value at 10/1.
Dave Roberts’ mare has won four times over fences, with her last win coming at Bangor last April off a mark of 108.
She scored easing down by 34 lengths that day and the handicapper reacted by whacking her up to 120.
However she gets into this hurdles contest off a mark of just 91, and that gives her a massive chance from a handicapping perspective of notching her first win over the smaller obstacles.
The 11-year-old also caught the eye on her comeback run last month after a lengthy lay off when finishing fifth of 14 to Changing Lanes.
She made a mistake at the fourth but made good headway to throw down a challenge three out before lack of fitness took it’s toll and was a spent force approaching the last.
Although eventually beaten 30 lengths she was not knocked about and allowed to come home in her own time and is sure to strip much fitter this afternoon.
If she can build on that effort she is certainly weighted to play a leading role in this, and she appears to have been overlooked in the betting despite her obvious credentials.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Chicago Alley (10/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
