Chieftain’s Choice looks decent value at 8/1 to land the spoils in the 7.55 on thisevening’s card at Aintree.

Kevin Frost’s eight-year-old was last successful at Sandown back in February and ran a blinder over course and distance at the Grand National meeting when second of 19 to Chesterfield in a competitve class 2 affair off a mark of 120.

After being held-up well off the pace he stayed on strongly from three out to be nearest at the finish an beaten five lengths.

That is strong form in relation to this lower grade class 3 contest and he has since posted two really solid efforts to finish second at Hexham and third at Ludlow.

His current mark of 125 looks workable given that he was rated as hiugh as 134 in the past and a reproduction of his run behind Chesterfield would be good enough to win this.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Chieftain’s Choice (8/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
