Chaplin Bay looks worth a bet at 8/1 in the 4.45 at Catterick today now eased in grade.
Ruth Carr’s six-year-old is a dual winner on the turf and the all-weather.
His last success came on ethe Tapeta four starts back on sesaonal reappearance when scoring by 1 1/2 length off a mark of 74 in a class 4 at Newcastle.
He backed that up with a solid second in another class 4 at the same venue off 79 and wasn’t disgraced last time out on the turf when seventh of 15 to Fyrecracker at Thirsk in a class 5.
Chaplin Bay has since been dropped a couple of pounds and is now able to race off a turf mark of just 63.
That is a career-low and he was placed three times last year on the surface off ratings of 76, 74 and 70.
It makes him dangerously well-treated, especially now dropped down into class 6 company in which he is 1-1.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Chaplin Bay (8/1 bet365, BetVictor, Sky Bet – BOG)
