Meshardal has become dangerously well treated and looks worth a wager at 100/30 in the 4.40 at Catterick today eased in grade.
Ruth Carr’s eight-year-old has a terrific record over course and distance having won four times and been placed twice from nine starts.
In the last of those 13 months ago he beat Love Oasis by 1/2 a length off a mark of 74.
Meshardal is now able to race in this class 5 affair off 9lb lower (65) and comes into race having shaped well in his last four starts starts – three in class 4 company and last time out her in a class 5 when unable to sustain his effort.
It gives him major claimms from a handicapping perspective as his last four success – all last year – came off 65, 67, 69 and the aforementioned 74.
Meshardal also now drops down into class 6 company and has a 50 per cent strike rate in the grade having won twice and been placed once from four starts in it.
This looks the easiest task he has faced for a while and therefore a good opportunity for him to get back on the scoresheet.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Meshardal (100/30 generally available – use BOG firms)
