Epaulement has a progressive profile and looks worth a piunt at 6/1 in the 5.30 now dropped back down im grade.

Tom Dascombe’s three-year-old got off the mark over 1m 2f at Haydock back in June when running on strongly to beat Benadalid, who went on to win his next two starts, by 1 3/4 lengths off a rating of 76.

He then ran very well off 7lb when a 1 1/4 lnegth runner-up to Gossip Column in a class 3 over an extended 1m 2f when holding every chnace inside the last until being unable to find any extra close home.

Epaulement backed that up with a fine 2 1/4 length fourth of 13 to Desert Path in another class 3 last time out over 1m 3f at Goodwood off 83 where he weakenend and lost two places near the finish having been in second and challenging at the furlong marker.

The form of both those races read well in the context off this lower grade class 4 contest and despite having been raised another 3lb and now having to race off a career-high mark of 86 Epaulement is clearly going the right way and improving with every run.

He will aalso appreciate the drop back in trip to the dead 1m 2f and is one from two over it, so everything looks in place for a huge run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Epaulement (6/1 Betfair, Paddy Power – BOG)
