Class-dropping Georgian Bay the standout bet at Yarmouth

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Georgian Bay is back down to a handy mark and at 11/2 rates the standout bet on today’s card at Yarmouth now dropped down in grade (3.20)

Karl Burke’s charge was last successful at Kempton back in September 2015 when landing the valuable 16-runner London Mile Handicap by 1 1/2 lengths off a mark of 90.

He went on post some solid efforts to make the frame off 97 and 98 and also ran well when a 3/4 length second at kempton back in September off 92.

Georgian Bay has since shaped better than the bare result suggests on several occasions and ran well on the turf at Haydock 12 months ago when third in a class 2 contest off 88.

He also shaped better than the bare result suggests at the track last time out when sixth after a break and beaten just 2 3/4 lengths.

that should have blown away the cobwebs and put him spot on for this and he has since been dropped another 1lb to a mark of 84.

That makes him well-treated on the pick of his form, especially now dropped down itno class 4 company for the first time in two years.

Jordan Vaughan, who gets on well with him, also takes off another 3lb with his claim and everything looks in place for a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Georgian Bay (11/2 Coral – BOG)
