Marracudja is of major interest in the 3.35 at Ludlow today now eased in grade.

The Paul Nicholls’ trained six-year-old won his first two starts over fences in 2016 off an official rating of 140 and was also far from disgraced when chasing home Altior in a Grade 2 Kempton off 146.

He also ran well when going down by 3/4 of a length to Mick Thonic at Cheltenham off the same rating.

Marracudja also ran well on to ber placed his first two starts last season, including when third in a class 1 listed handicap at Ascot off 141.

Altough not so good last time out after a slow atsrta, he had previously won well at Mussleburgh on unsuitable soft ground off 140.

He is able to race in gthis off just 2lb higher, and now drops back down ito class 3 company in whicbh he has a 67% strike rate having won twice and been placed once from three starts.

Ground conditions are also ideal and he is partnered by a claimer who takes a hadny 7lob of his back.

Taking that into account he looks weighted to take all the beating.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Marracudja (7/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
