Thikriyaat looks terrfic value at 8/1 in the 4.05 at York today now dropped in class.
Sir Michael Stoute’s charge won his first three starts last season in the manner of a rapidly improving sort before putting in a huge perfoamnce when finding only subsequent Group 1 winner Ribchester too good in the Group Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot.
After being held-up off the pace by jockey Paul Hanagan and forced to race virtually alone in the centre, Thikriyaat kept on really strongly from the three marker to be gaining all the way to the line and be beaten 2 1/4 lengths.
It was a terrific effort and Thikriyaat went on to land a Group 3 at Goodwood in good style when quickening nicley to score by a cosy 3/4 of length.
He then ran below par on his final start of the campaign when last of five in the Group 2 Celebration Mile at the same venue but this Listed handicap respresents a big drop in class.
Thikriyaat has also since been gelded and should have more to offer as a four-year-old after just six career starts.
His run behind Ribchester came on soft ground and he has won on good=to-sot so the going should not be an issue and another plus is that he has a 66% strike rate over the 7f trip having won two of his three starts over it.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Thikriyaat (8/1 William Hill – BOG)
