With our main man Dave Metcalf away for the week, Myracing.com have kindly stepped in to the breach to provide us all with at least one tip a day with others available FREE OF CHARGE from their website, so fingers crossed we can walk away with a few winners.
Cloudy Too has been out of form recently for trainer Sue Smith, but the 3.55pm at Carlisle is a weaker race than he has been recently contesting and 7/1 offers value.
Today’s race is open only to veterans, with the field aged between 10 and 13, making Cloudy Too one of the younger horses in the line up at eleven years old.
He has struggled on his last two starts, contesting the Veterans’ Final off a mark of 140, and a Listed Ascot chase off a mark of 138, but this race is considerably less competitive than either of those contests.
The handicapper has dropped him to a mark of 136, three pounds lower than when winning the valuable Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock last January, and the return to Carlisle is sure to see a revival.
Cloudy Too has won two of his previous three starts here, including a Listed Chase, and with seven of his nine career wins coming on ground which reads Soft or worse he’ll appreciate the forecast conditions.
