Last night saw another packed house for Mickey Helliet’s Hellraiser Promotions at London’s Coronet Theatre which was sponsored by Daily Sport and www.dailysportlotto.com when top of the bill Chas Symonds beat Darryl Still on points over 10 rounds 98-93 to claim the Southern Area Welterweight Title. Symonds who is a tough guy who just keeps coming forward was in control throughout and now hopes to get a re-match with Gavin Tait who he lost to in a close fight at the Coronet last year.
Chief Support was Carlshalton’s Tony Owen who beat Bulgarian Asan Yusdseinov on points over 8 rounds 80 -71 which was a good comeback for Owen having lost his only fight to date last time out at the Coronet to Ben Murphy who stopped him in 4 rounds.
Peckham Welter Johnny Garton claimed his first stoppage victory with a 4th round stoppage of durable South African journeyman Bheki Moyo. Garton now 4-0 much to the delight of his army of supporters.
The bill which was televised live on Eurosport was a cracker with great support for all the home fighters.
