Aldermoor has a good recotd at Lingfield and looks worth an each-way interest at 16/1 in the 4.55.
Sturat Williams’ gelding has has three starts at the track, winning twice and finsihing placed on the other occasion.
He readily landed the Blue Square Spring Final over 6f here two starts ago when coming from well off the pace to beat Picansort going away by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 71, and shaped better than his finishing position suggests last time out at Kempton after a break off today’s mark of 77.
He reared up at the start that day and after being well behind stayed on under tender handling to be beaten just 3 1/4 lengths and finish 8th of 12 to Espri de Midas.
Given how badly he fluffed the gates it was a decent effort, and he is sure to be spot on for this with that run under his belt.
The six-year-old is equally effective over this afternoon’s 7f as he is over six, and Ryan Clarke – who partnered him to his last success – is now back in the saddle.
He takes an invaluable 3lb off his back, and in a which could well be run to suit I can see him running a far better race than his odds suggest.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Aldermoor (16/1 Sky Bet)
