Court Minstrel has dropped to a handy mark and makes plenty of appeal at 12/1 in the Swinton Handicap Hurdle at Haydock today (3.10).
Evan Williams’ 10-year-old is a classy sort as he showed when defying top weight of 11st 10lb to land teh 2015 running of the Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle at Chepstow off a rating of 149.
Court Misntrel backed that up with second to Rock On Ruby in a Grade 2 contest at Ascot off 157 and showed that he reatained plenty of ability on seasonal reapperance at Kempton back in October when beaten just a neck by Hargam in a Listed affair.
He failed to build on that promising effort in his next four starts but bounced back to form last time out when an eye-catching 10t of 25 to Arctic Fire in County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
After being held-up at the rear Court Minstrel made good headway to from home and stayed on well to be nearest at the finish and beaten just 4 3/4 lengths.
He is now able to race in this off 1lb lower and his current rating of 144 is the lowest he has run off in four years.
It gives Court Minstrel major claims at the weights in a race that should be run to suit.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Court Minstrel (12/1 generally available – use BOG frims)
