Crackers a Cheshire Oaks smasher

Posted on by Dave Metcalf

Absolute Crackers looks to hold outstanding credential of landing today’s Cheshire Oaks (2.05 Chester) and rates a solid bet at 13/2.

Jessica Harrington’s filly was a consistent sort as a juvenile when finishing runner-up three times – most notably on her final start when beaten 4 1/4 lengths by subsequent 1000 Guineas winner Homecoming Queen in a listed event at the Curragh.

Although no match for the winner, who has clearly improved out of all recognition since then, she kept on really well in the rain softened ground so today’s conditions will hold no fears.

The daughter of Giant’s Causeway looked to have done well physically on her seasonal reappearance at Cork last month where she made all to win comfortably by 2 1/4 lengths.

That win will have done her confidence the world of good, and she looks the type who has plenty more to offer now stepped up in trip.

She is also officially rated 6lb and upwards clear of her rivals, and with conditions not a problem and Fran Berry in the saddle she looks the one they all have to beat.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Absolute Crackers (13/2 BetVictor – BOG)
