Cravat can tie his rivals in knots

Cravat was a massive eye-catcher last time out and having dropped to a dangerous mark makes plenty of appeal at 10/1 in the 2.20 at Newmarket.

Mark Johnston’s colt has a busy time as a juvenile, but improved with his racing and bagged back-to-back victories at Chester and Leicester last September/October.

He was officially rated 91 after the last of those victories, and a dip in his form at the start of this season has seen him drop to a mark of just 74.

That gives him a massive chance from a handicapping perspective, and he shaped as if ready to take advantage when fourth of 12 to Anne’s Rocket at Sandown last month.

He got no sort of run from the rear of the field that day but ran on strongly when eventually seeing daylight and finished well to be beaten just 3 lengths.

The son of Dubai Destination seemed to appreciate the return to better going, and with conditions again in his favour and his stable in flying form a huge run looks on the cards from the foot of the weights.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts each-way Cravat (10/1 bet365 – BOG)
