Diamond Gesture runs off a career-low mark in the 5.10 at Towcester today and looks worth siding with at 9/1.

Fergal O’Brien’s mare is yet to win in 15 starts over hurdles but has run some solid races to make the frame, inlcuding when third of 13 to Trend Is My Friend in a class 4 contest at Perth last July off 92.

The seven-year-old stayed on strongly to be beaten 1 3/4 lengths and got put up 6lb for that effort to 98.

She has since failed to trouble the judged in five subsequent starts, but is now able to rade off just 89 as a result in this class 5 contest.

It gives Diamond Gesture every chance at the weights on the pick of her form, and she didn’t shape too badly last time out when fifth of 17 at Perth on his second run back from a 183 day lay-off.

That should have put her spot on, and withNick Slatter in the saddle taking another 3lb off her back she looks weighted to run a huge race.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Diamond Gesture (9/1 bet365, Paddy Power – BOG)
