Dixie’s Dream looks worth a wager at 13/2 in the 4.00 at Kempton today now dropped back into the grade in which he was last successful.

William Jarvis’ gelding ran a cracker when runner-up to Multi Bene on the rurf at Haydock last September after 337 days on the sidelines, and backed that up with a solid run over this course and distance two starts later when beaten just a length into second behind Defendant.

He then deservedly got his head in front over course and distance when staying on well to beat Tasrih by a comfortable length in an 11-runner class 4 affair off 81.

The five-year-old then had his sights raised and was pitched into a class 2 contest, again over CD, and after being slowly away he could never get competitive before finishing a well-beaten 8th of 10 to String Theory.

However he quickly out that poor run behind him last time out in a class 3 contest over 1m 1f at Wolverhampton when staying on to finish fourth of 9 to Star Links off a mark of 86 having not been ideally positioned in a slowly run race.

That effort suggested that he remained in good form, and the handicapper has since dropped him 1lb to 85.

The son of Hawk Wing should be competitive of that on the pick of his form, especially now dropped back into class 4 company.

The drop back to a mile will also suit, and with George Baker in the saddle and a decent draw in stall 6 everything looks in place for a big run.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Dixie’s Dream (6/1 Boylesports – BOG)
