Dubai’s Secret is back down to a handy mark and makes plenty of appeal at 11/1 in the 3.40 at Newbury today.
The gelding won four times when trained by Richard Hannon with his last success coming over course and distance 11 months ago where he beat Laidback Romeo by a short-head off a mark of 83.
He backed that up with a solid second at Newmarket off 86 and has shaped better than the bare result suggests in two runs this season since joining David Brown.
On both occasions he has faded late on and looked as if needing the run and he should now be spot on to do himself justice.
He has also dropped 3lb in the weights to 84, just 1lb higher than when last victorious, and now returns to a venue where he is 1-1.
Dubai’s Secret also boasts a 33% strike rate in the grade and is weighted to run a huge race in this on the pick of his form.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Dubai’s Secret (11/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
