The progressive Dubawi Fifty looks to have the right profile for today’s Chester Cup (3.35) and makes plenty of appeal at 9/1.

Karen McLintock’s five-year-old has an impressive 42% strike rate having won five of his 12 starts.

He is two from three on the turf, landing back-to-back contests at Ayr and Nottingham last summer before running very to finish fourth of 34 to Withhold in the 2m 2f Cesarewitch at Newmarket.

Dubawi Fifty got outpaced three from home aftre being held-up before rallying and staying on stronglly to be nearest at the finish and beaten 11 lengths.

It was a good effort given how the race panned out and he has looked as good as ever this year in winning twice on the all-weather before finishing a 1/2 length third to American Gigolo last time out at Newcastle.

Dubawi Fifty finished just a neck behind the second home Stargazer and now meets that rival on 3lb better terms.

That should be more than enough to turn teh tables and he also remains unexposed as a stayer.

The booking of Silvestre De Sousa is also a plus and Dubawi Fifty has a 50% strike rate in the grade.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts each-way Dubawi Fifty (9/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
