Duke Of Monmouth has dropped to a dangerous mark and looks decent value at 9/2 to take advantage and land the 2.40 at Chepstow today.

The gelding won twice  when trained by Charlie Mann, landing a maiden hurdle at Warwick on soft ground and a handicap chase at Uttoxeter under sinmilar conditions off a rating of 112.

His form tailed off after the latter and he failed to cut any ice in five starts for Mann.

The seven-year-old has since joined Tom Symonds and is able to make his debut for his new handler off a hurdles rating of just 105.

That is the lowest mark he has ever run off and makes him dangerously well-treated in this class 3 contest if the change of yard has freshened him up.

He is now 15lb lower than when a cracking fourth of 18 to Ely Brown in a a very competitive class 2 Pertemps qualifier at Warwick in March 2013, and that form is very strong in the context of this contest.

Duke Of Month also runs well fresh having won and finished runner-up twice in the past after lengthy breaks and will relish the testing conditions.

Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Duke Of Monmouth (9/2 Boylesports, Stan James, Sky Bet – BOG)
