Excessable is strongly fancied ay 7/2 to cash-in on a drop in the weights and land the spoils in the 5.00 at York today following an eye-catching run last time out.
Tim Easterby’s five-year-old won three times last season with his last success coming over course and distance in a class 3 off 87.
He got out up to 91 for that victory and failed to trouble the judge in his next four outings.
However, his first three runs this season were all in class 2 contests and Excessable shaped as if truning to form in the last of those when a keeping on seven length 10th of 16 to Caspian Prince in the Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh.
That view was confirmed last time out over CD where he stayed on strongly from the rear to finish a 3 3/4 length fourth of 14 to Fendale.
Excessbale didn’t have the best of the draw that day, as it turned out, and it was an effort which suggested his time was near.
He has since been dropped 2lb to 81 and this class 3 looks less competitive. He is no 6lb lower than when last successful and gives him a big shout at the weights in a grade in which he has won two of his nine starts.
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts Excessable (7/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
