The well-treated Excessable looks worth bet at 9/2 to cash-in on a drop in class and land the spoils in the 4.10 at Catterick today.
Tim Easterby’s five-year-old won three times last season with his last success coming over at York in a class 3 off 87.
He got out up to 91 for that victory and failed to trouble the judge in his next four outings.
However, his first three runs this season were all in class 2 contests and Excessable shaped as if returning to form in the last of those when a keeping on seven length 10th of 16 to Caspian Prince in the class 2 Scottish Sprint Cup at Musselburgh.
That view was confirmed next time up at York two starts back where he stayed on strongly from the rear to finish a 3 3/4 length fourth of 14 to Fendale in a class 3.
Although then not so good last time out at the same venue in a similar grade affair, Excessable has since been dropped another 3lb and is now able to race off 78.
He is now 9lb lower than when last successful and gives him a big shout at the weights now dropped into class 4 company in which he has won three times and been placed twice from eight starts (38 per cent strike rate).
Daily Sport recommended bet: 2pts win Excessable (9/2 generally available – use BOG firms)
