Fixe Le Kap looks ahead of his mark and rates a solid bet at 6/1 in the Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle at Sandown today (3.00)
Nicky Henderson’s gelding was a smart juvenile hurdler last season, winning his first two starts before finishing a fine 3/4 length second of four to Frodon in the Victor Ludorum at Haydock.
Frodon went on to finish a decent eieght in the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival off an official rating of 143 and has since developed into a smart 153-rated chaser having won six of his 8 starts over the larger obstacles.
The third home Messire Des Obeaux has also gone on to score three times since, including in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle to be rated 146.
That gives the form a rock solid look and Fix Le Kap went on to round off the campaign with a solid eight of 22 to Diego Du Charmil in the Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival off an opening handicap mark of 142.
There have been plenty of subsequent winners come out of that race and Fix Le Kap is now able to race off 4lb lower. A rating of 138 makes him look thrown-in at the weights
Daily Sport recommended bet: 3pts win Fixe Le Cap (6/1 generally available – use BOG firms)
